"Am I Ugly?" Videos: A Disturbing New Trend

First off, I'd like to point out how seriously and how whole heatedly I disagree with this trend that seems to be sweeping the internet.  I just found it so heartbreaking to hear a news story about this.  Of course, self insecurities, especially in the "tween" and "teen" age groups, are no new thing.  It's quite sad though, that with the advancement of technologies and the internet, youtube in particular, people with such insecurities would use those devices as a way to put themselves in harms way.  And even if they felt good about themselves, who do they think is watching?  It's dangerous!  They are just putting themselves in harms way and are just making themselves targets for pedophiles.  It's sickening.

People need to be more careful as to what information and what photos and videos they post on the internet.  Then the worst part is when they are like, "Oh, I don't know why this happened."

Yeah, you do.  And to say otherwise is a f**king joke.

But I digress...Because if you want an honest opinion, Youtube probably isn't the greatest place in the world to get it.  Even if your the most secure person in yourself, let's take a moment here and really dig deep...how long with the abuse have to last before it just starts eating away out you.  Because let's face it, even that very first piece of torment, will take even the littlest bit from you, then more and more abuse, taking bigger and bigger pieces, until you are left in a crying heap.  I don't mean to sound condescending, but that really is how some people are.  They are so unhappy with themselves that the only way of making themselves feel better and more secure in themselves is to take away from others.  It's not right and it's not fair, I know it, I really do.  I also know what it's like, along with everyone else, boy or girl, who's got half a brain, to hunger for approval, even if it's from a perfect stranger...but these videos, this new trend, the way teenagers are now going about it, the way they now seek that approval, can have damaging consequences.  They, underaged girls I mean, are just setting themselves up as targets for, now I'm going the graphic route on this one to get my point across, they are setting themselves up as targets for perverted men/ PEDOPHILES to masturbate to and they are letting those types of people "hunger and lust" after them by putting themselves out there like that.  The problem with the internet is that is it totally free and so accessible to everyone, and what young kids need to realize is that not all things on the internet is "Kosher".

My thoughts on this subject is that youtube needs to have a longer processing time on their videos that are uploaded to the site.  They should add in a screening process and block videos with certain subject manner from being uploaded to a website, depending on the uploader's age.

Stay safe kids, and use the internet the proper and safer way.

You're all beautiful, you just need to feel that way yourself.  It doesn't matter what anyone else says, because for every one person, their is someone who is dreaming of them somewhere and who thinks they are the most beautiful woman or man in the world...Remember that, and remember this, "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”--Spoken by Eleanor Roosevelt.
